Lower Back Pain Relief Part 1

Lower back pain (LBP) was the second most common cause of disability in US adults in 2015 and a common reason for lost work days. In fact, an estimated 149 million days of work per year are lost due to LBP in the US each year with over 80 percent of the population expected to experience an episode of LBP at some time during their life.

That amounts to a total cost estimated to be between 100–200 billion dollars annually, two-thirds of which are due to decreased wages and productivity.

What are the most common causes of lower back pain:

  • tight hips and quads
  • weak gluteal muscles and overextended hamstrings (that feel tight)
  • immobile ankles
  • excessive sitting
  • lack of movement
  • being overwieght

All of the above are often intertwined and present as a vicious circle with one exacerbating the other.

I have posted several videos on different ways on mobilizing lower backs that have been hugely popular on my site and have helped hundreds of people get moving again and break the vicious cycle.

Here is the first video in the sequence that will help you get moving again. In fact, you don't have to be suffering a sore back to utilize these series of drills, they are a great primer to your training, be it weight lifting, running or whatever it is you like to do.

Please enjoy, utilize and share with a loved one who suffers a sore back, because as the stats show, we all know someone with a sore back!
